Renault-Nissan Alliance Received Top Honors for Support of Action Against Hunger

Renault-Nissan Alliance Supports Action Against Hunger

In an event rallying hundreds of supporters of Action Against Hunger, the Renault-Nissan Alliance received top honors for its significant contributions to the worthy cause.

Action Against Hunger is a non-profit organization committed to fighting childhood malnutrition and creating a world without hunger. The Renault-Nissan Alliance had the opportunity to set up an emergency fund, enabling the organization to rapidly provide relief to those in need.

“The Renault-Nissan Alliance has been a strong advocate of global humanitarian work, which includes everything from supporting victims of the typhoon in the Philippines to providing emergency food assistance to people in East Africa,” said Raymond Debbane, chairman of Action Against Hunger’s Board of Directors. “We honor their commitment to help the most vulnerable communities thrive.”

The event not only gathered supporters to honor generous contributions to the organization’s work, but it also inspired continued efforts on behalf of Action Against Hunger’s mission.

During this past year, the non-profit was able to provide humanitarian aid to those caught in the midst of the Syrian conflict, victims of the typhoon in the Philippines, and people plagued by violence in the Central African Republic.

We at Bates Nissan are proud the Renault-Nissan Alliance is doing its part to give people around the world something most of us take for granted: food. If you would like to get involved, visit the organization’s website for more information or to make a donation to the cause.

Nissan EVs Revamp the Orange Fleet in France

Nissan EVs - Orange logoNissan has taken the torch as the forerunner in the current electric vehicle market—and it’s a torch that they don’t seem to be planning to pass off anytime soon, either. In fact, they’re only gaining endorsements and followers and customers right now—and those aren’t just individual customers. Orange, a major telecommunications company in France, has brokered a partnership with Renault-Nissan for over 200 Renault and Nissan EVs to improve their fleet.

These cars will be used mostly for car sharing purposes; the efficiency and practicality of EVs make them a perfect fit for this function. “Thanks to the partnership between Renault and Nissan, the Alliance is able to provide Orange with the widest range of electric vehicles to meet its needs – from subcompact passenger cars to light-commercial vehicles,” said Christian Mardrus, Alliance Executive Vice President for Renault-Nissan B.V. and the Alliance CEO Office. “More Orange employees will soon be able to enjoy the many benefits of electric mobility: zero noise, smooth handling and acceleration, and zero tailpipe emissions. And the vehicles can be fully recharged with renewable energy at night, so they can be 100% charged every morning.”
