Since 2005, Nissan has contributed more than $15.5 million to help Habitat for Humanity build affordable homes for families across the country. To celebrate 13 years of a beautiful relationship, Nissan has donated $1 million more to Habitat for Humanity to help in its righteous cause.
Nissan Vice President of Corporate Development and Social Responsibility Rebecca Vest, said, “Nissan values its partnership with Habitat for Humanity because it helps build sustainable communities where our employees live and work. Our employees look forward to working alongside future homeowners, and their experiences affirm our corporate vision to enrich people’s lives.”
Most of Nissan’s 2018 donation will be used to build Habitat homes in locations where Nissan has an operating presence. Some of the money will also be used for vehicle purchases used on the projects.
Along with monetary donations, Nissan’s employees also contribute by volunteering their time. This year, employees will help with projects across the United States, including in Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Michigan, Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
This past summer, Nissan recognized the efforts of its employees with the dedication of the 11th home built using Nissan volunteers. This home was constructed in Jackson, Mississippi, for the Trotter family with nearly 100 Nissan volunteers.
