With a world that continuously moves toward going green and being Eco-friendly, there is one automotive brand that constantly looks to improve their cleanliness, and that is Nissan. The Nissan LEAF has redefined the all-electric zero emission vehicle world, and now it is taking it even further. The Nissan LEAF with self-cleaning technology is dubbing itself the world’s cleanest car, combining both zero emission and outside cleanliness.
The All-Electric Nissan LEAF will future a self-cleaning paint as an optional package in the future.
“The ‘self-cleaning’ paint, called Ultra-Ever Dry®, creates a protective layer of air between the paint and environment, effectively stopping standing water and road spray from creating dirty marks on the LEAF’s surface,” said a Nissan news release. “Nissan is one of the first carmakers to apply this technology to a vehicle.”
The Nissan LEAF with self-cleaning technology uses that special paint to help block dirt, rain, particles, and whatever else it may come across on the road. This will lead to owners having to go through car washes less, washing less, and saving more money.
While Nissan has no plans to make this paint part of their standard lineup, and tests are still going on, we can only hope that it will become something we can get as soon as possible! Vehicles like the Nissan LEAF help to earn them the 4th place spot in the Best Global Green Brands.
How often do you hear the words, “Go green,” rattled through activist groups, your parent-teacher meetings, your community, or whatever it is you are taking part in? Is it a lot? Because automotive companies, like Nissan, are saying it a lot too. That may be one of the reasons that InterBrand has ranked Nissan fourth overall for the Best Global Green Brands.
That’s right, you read it correctly. Nissan has moved to fourth in the Best Global Green Brands ranking, improving on its fifth place rank last year. Nothing but improvement is coming from Nissan every year for going green. In fact, when the company placed fifth last year, it was the first time that they had broken into the top 10, and now they are ranked fourth! That deserves a round of applause. (Don’t worry we will wait)
“More and more people want to buy products from brands that come from organizations they trust and believe in,” said Roel De Vries, Nissan corporate vice president responsible for Global Marketing, Brand and Communications. “Best Green Global Brands is a reflection of everything that we as a brand do to make the world a better place. That we are recognized this year as among the best is a confirmation we are on the right path.” (See the full Nissan news release here)
