Nissan is all about innovating and getting ahead of the competition. Now, it looks like it’s doing just that be creating an entirely new vehicle segment with the introduction of the Nissan IMs Sports Sedan concept car.
This vehicle debuted earlier this year at the 2019 North American International Auto Show. Considered the first-ever elevated sports sedan, the IMs concept brings a variety of new features to the table, including never-before-seen proportions and a unique Premier Seat setup, which puts the seats in a 2-1-2 configuration. It is also a pure electric all-wheel-drive concept that also has fully autonomous drive capability.
Nissan based this concept vehicle on the brand’s Nissan Intelligent Mobility, which is Nissan’s vision for how to change the way vars are powered, driven, and incorporated into society.
“Fully embracing the three pillars of Nissan Intelligent Mobility — Intelligent Driving, Intelligent Power, and Intelligent Integration – the IMs concept moves toward the creation of a sustainable mobile society in the form of EVs, autonomous drive, and connected technologies,” said Denis Le Vot, senior vice president and chairman of Management Committee for Nissan North America, Inc.
The vehicle’s dual-electric motor powertrain produces 483 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, while its 115-kWh battery provides an estimated single-charge range of 380 miles. That’s what you call delivering the best of both worlds, and no brand gives you more of what you want than Nissan.
