As auto regulation standards become tougher and gas prices remain high, fuel efficiency is still a huge factor in new car shopping, especially for drivers looking for larger vehicles like crossovers and SUVs. Lucky for you, the Nissan JUKE was rated as one of the 10 Most Fuel-efficient SUVs and Crossovers by Kelley Blue Book.

The distinctive Nissan crossover achieves 27 city/32 highway mpg*, and a total of 29 mpg combined*, setting itself apart by more than just its quirky appearance.

According to Kelley Blue Book, “the JUKE really impresses with a genuinely fun-to-drive nature.” Making it fun to drive and fuel-efficient is the 1.6L direct-injection turbocharged engine that produces 188 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque.

Other notable features of the 2012 Nissan JUKE are the Xtronic CVT transmission with sport mode and available all-wheel drive. The combination of the independent strut front suspension, front and rear stabilizer bars, and big tires produce dynamic performance, making the crossover as sporty as it is family-friendly.

The JUKE is also equipped with a long list of standard safety features, including the Nissan Advanced Air Bag System with dual-stage front airbags, roof-mounted side curtain airbags, LATCH system, front and rear crumple zones, and many others. The Nissan JUKE also sits taller and has oversized mirrors, increasing visibility and maneuverability.

Kelly Blue Book heaped praise upon the 2012 JUKE, saying “it takes guts to build a car like the 2012 Nissan JUKE, a radical little crossover that is part CUV, part sports car and part ultramodern rolling art.” If you’re looking for the perfect combination of versatility, utility, style, and fun, test drive a new JUKE at Bates Nissan in Killeen today. 2013 Nissan GT-R. NISMO ’95 model available in Gran Turismo for GT Academy.

If you’ve been anxiously waiting, it’s almost here – the second season of Nissan GT Academy premieres on SPIKE TV at Thursday, November 1 at 11:30pm.

Nissan GT Academy selects 32 of the more than 400,000 top Gran Turismo video gamers, determined over 3 months of online PlayStation competition, to compete for a chance to train with professionals and become real a racecar driver. The 32 finalists meet and compete against each other over two more days of head-to-head virtual racing, after which half of them are sent packing and half move to the Final Selection Round.

The Final Selection Committee judges the remaining drivers on their mental toughness, physical fitness, and of course, driving skills. The driver determined to be the best is sent to a professional driver’s training program in the UK where they hit the track in practice racing events. At the completion of the course, the winner of the Academy makes his or her entrance in to the sport of professional racing in front of an international audience.

Previous GT Academy winners include Lucas Ordenez, who raced in 2009 FIA GT4 series, after which he won the series championship of the Intercontinental LeMans Cup and then proceeded to take second in his class at 24 Hours of LeMans. The second winner, Jordan Tresson, won the 24 Hours of Spa in 2011 and the Blancpain Endurance Series. Last year’s international winner, Jann Merdenborough, is racing a Nissan GT-R/NISMO GT-R in the Blancpain Endurance series this year. The first North American race in 2011 featured Brian Heitkotter driving a Nissan 370 NISMO in the Grand-Am Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge.

The six-week SPIKE TV series will chronicle the elimination process of the Nissan GT Academy competition, hosted by Dhani Jones.  Drivers will receive critiques and instruction from professional drivers Maryeve Dufault, Danny Sullivan and Boris Said. If you miss an episode, they will also be available on the Nissan YouTube Channel.

If you’re ready to make the move from the couch with your PlayStation and onto the street in your own new Nissan, visit Bates Nissan in Killeen, Texas today. While the streets around Austin hardly rival the world’s fastest race tracks, we can help you find the new Nissan that gives you the same excitement in your daily driving. New Nissan Electric Vehicle in Development

New Nissan NV van

Look out, LEAF, there is another Nissan electric vehicle in the works, this time shocking the commercial sector with the introduction of the new Nissan NV200 electric minivan.

One of the Nissan NV200 prototypes has been used by FedEx since December. The NV200 was also chosen as a new electric taxi model by several cities, including London and New York, where it won the Taxi of Tomorrow competition.

The NV200 uses the same powertrain as the LEAF, and is positioned to compete against the electric Ford Transit Connect in the commercial delivery van market. Aside from the fuel savings provided by electric fleet vehicles, Nissan says they are especially well-suited for delivery use. Since many delivery vans are often loaded inside warehouses, electric vehicles can go further into those enclosed spaces without producing harmful emissions.

The new Nissan NV200 is powered by a 24-kWh lithium ion battery pack and an 80-kilowatt motor. Engine ratings are 107 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of torque.
