Best Global Green Brands Ranks Nissan 4th, Still Improving

Best Global Green Brands - Nissan

Vehicles like the Nissan LEAF help to earn them the 4th place spot in the Best Global Green Brands.

How often do you hear the words, “Go green,” rattled through activist groups, your parent-teacher meetings, your community, or whatever it is you are taking part in? Is it a lot? Because automotive companies, like Nissan, are saying it a lot too. That may be one of the reasons that InterBrand has ranked Nissan fourth overall for the Best Global Green Brands.

That’s right, you read it correctly. Nissan has moved to fourth in the Best Global Green Brands ranking, improving on its fifth place rank last year. Nothing but improvement is coming from Nissan every year for going green. In fact, when the company placed fifth last year, it was the first time that they had broken into the top 10, and now they are ranked fourth! That deserves a round of applause. (Don’t worry we will wait)

“More and more people want to buy products from brands that come from organizations they trust and believe in,” said Roel De Vries, Nissan corporate vice president responsible for Global Marketing, Brand and Communications. “Best Green Global Brands is a reflection of everything that we as a brand do to make the world a better place. That we are recognized this year as among the best is a confirmation we are on the right path.” (See the full Nissan news release here)

Nissan Rogue Pinned with Illustrious Safety Rating by IIHS

2014 Nissan RogueYou might not be aware of this, but one of the lesser known meanings of the word “rogue” is a “dangerous solitary animal.” While Nissan might want you to perceive their Rogue as an elegant creature with the grace and aggressiveness of a big cat, they certainly don’t want their car to be “dangerous.” No worries there! The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) recently rated the Rogue as a Top Safety Pick+, the highest rating given out by the authoritative institution.

“Nissan has a long-standing commitment to safety and innovation, and this IIHS rating is a very important milestone for the all-new 2014 Rogue,” said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Sales & Marketing, Parts & Service, for Nissan North America, in a press release. “Rogue is the second best-selling vehicle in Nissan’s lineup, and with its standard and available safety features, we’re bringing a new level of affordable technologies and innovations to a growing segment looking for fresh ideas.”

The Rogue achieved the Top Safety Pick+ rating despite the increasingly stringent criteria set up by the IIHS, making the award even more impressive. The SUV takes advantage of features like the Advanced Air Bag System and Active Ride Control to grant you perfect peace of mind behind the wheel. Nissan Named as a Best Global Green Brand for 2013

When Interbrand’s third annual Best Global Green Brands report for 2013 came out, many people were surprised by the top companies, which included Nissan. Nissan Named a Top Global Green Brand for 2013

Moving up 16 places, Nissan is one of the leaders for their zero emissions, 100% electric LEAF. They were also named the “top riser” after moving up 16 places from the 2012 rankings. Alexander Murry, Strategy Director for Interbrand, said he believes Japanese car makers are setting a higher bar for the industry, with four of the top five places going to automotive brands.

The rankings are determined by comparing the performance of a company’s environmental practices to the perception of the general public, and the Leaf “drives perception” towards Nissan doing their part in helping the environment.

Selling over 65,000 Nissan LEAFs in May 2013 made Nissan’s 100% electric car the best-selling EV in history and this recognition is just another step in the right direction towards Nissan’s commitment to reduce its environmental impact.

The top ten on the list included Toyota, Ford, Honda, Panasonic, Nissan, Johnson and Johnson, Volkswagen, Danone, Nokia, and Dell. For a full list with all the brands, check out Interbrand’s Best Global Green Brands for 2013.

2013 Nissan Pathfinder Named Best Interior by WardsAuto World

When you’re looking to purchase a car, are you looking more at the inside or the outside? Here at Bates Nissan, we think you should be looking inside; especially at the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder which was voted Best Interior by the editors at WardsAuto World.

Out of 46 vehicles of all prices ranges were evaluated on their comfort, materials, fit and finish, control layout and use, technology user interface, safety, value and overall design, 10 were chosen as 2013’s best interior designs.

The 2013 Nissan Pathfinder was picked because of its “warm, inviting, spacious, and ready for anything” atmosphere and the second row “latch and glide” seats gave the Pathfinder an overall fine example of graceful utility.

Today, more consumers are spending more time looking at the interior of a car before they purchase it than they used to and Drew Winter, editor-in-chief of WardsAuto World, said “it wasn’t uncommon all that long ago for auto makers to view interiors as the best place to take cost out of a vehicle.” However even the Chevrolet Spark (the lowest-cost model picked for the 10 Best Interiors) figured out they were doing it wrong.

“They eventually figured out that’s a big mistake,” said Winter. “People spend a lot more time looking at the inside of a car than the outside.”

2013 Nissan Pathfinder Car of the Year in Versatility

2013 Nissan Pathfinder

2013 Nissan Pathfinder

Bates Nissan is proud to announce that the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder has been named by Popular Mechanics Car of the Year for versatility.

Citing the new unibody design and the more efficient V6 engine, Popular Mechanics called the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder “more spacious and more practical all around.”

The Pathfinder offers room for seven passengers, making it a viable alternative to the minivan for families. The new EZ Flex seats add to comfort and ease of access by allowing second-row seats to slide forward, with passengers strapped in, to allow third-row seat entry. The 2013 Pathfinder also offers 79.8 cubic feet of total cargo space, with additional in-floor storage under the third row, making it just as good for hauling stuff as for hauling people.

Fuel economy in the new Pathfinder is improved to 26 mpg highway by shaving 500 pounds from the body weight through unibody construction, changed from body-on-frame construction in previous models. The new frame also shifted the center of gravity lower, allowing a smoother ride and better handling.

The 2013 Pathfinder no longer offers a V8 engine, downsizing instead to a V6. While the power decreases slightly to 260hp, the towing capacity is still a respectable 5,000 pounds.

To see all the ways the flexible new 2013 Nissan Pathfinder can fit your life, test drive one today at Bates Nissan in Killeen. Our knowledgeable sales team can demonstrate all of the practical, innovative features, and can answer any questions you have at (254)699-7181.
