New Year’s Driving Resolutions to Make Yourself a Better Driver

new year’s driving resolutions

If you’ve already got your New Year’s resolutions lined up, you’re likely focusing on starting better habits and shedding bad ones. You can apply this principle to your performance on the road by picking up a few common New Year’s driving resolutions, which will help make you safer and smarter behind the wheel in 2019.

Indicate!

Communication between drivers is essential to the safety of everyone on the road, and the only way to achieve clear communication is through the use of indicators. Whether you’re turning on a busy street or sliding into a new lane on an empty highway, always use your turn signals.

Stay alert!

Put down the phone and keep your eyes on the road. It’s so easy to pick up your device when you hear it chirp with some notification or another, but this is a dangerous habit for yourself, other drivers, and pedestrians. Consider updating your car to one with full device integration at Bates Nissan. We already have a wide selection of 2019 models with advanced technologies to choose from, and they’ll allow you to stay better connected without having to look down at your phone.

Stay on top of your maintenance!

It’s easy to skip regular vehicle maintenance, but not if you resolve to be a better car parent for the New Year! Don’t put off oil changes. Get new wiper blades when the time comes. Take your ride in for a tune-up when it’s due. Check your tire pressure. These are just some of the things you can do, and the service team at Bates Nissan would be more than happy to help.

From our team to you and yours, have a safe and happy New Year. We look forward to seeing you at Bates Nissan very soon.
