Spring is known for its rain showers, but no matter which season it is, you should always be prepared for precipitation. Make sure you know how to change your car’s wiper blades when they begin to wear out and you’ll be grateful for the clear visibility when the rain does fall.
When to Change The Blades
If your car’s wiper blades are squeaking or leaving streaks and residue behind, then it’s time to replace them. Wiper blades should create a clear, clean path on the windshield.
How to Change the Blades
Changing the wiper blades on your vehicle is easy and inexpensive. Your owner’s manual will tell you which size and type of wiper blades your car needs.
To remove old blades, you can pull the wiper arms up so that they’re perpendicular to the windshield, then push down on the tab that connects the arm to the blade. When the tab is released, pull the old blade down and off of the arm.
To replace with a new wiper blade, pull the blade up the wiper arm and into position until you hear the tab click. This will mean that the wiper blade is secure and ready for use.
