In A Clique All Its Own: The Redesigned Nissan Maxima

The word “bold” is often used in automotive marketing campaigns, even when sometimes, it’s not entirely appropriate. But it is awfully difficult to juxtapose the outgoing Nissan Maxima and the incoming Maxima and not think to yourself, “Wow, that’s…bold.”

The new Maxima looks overtly stylish, like the kind of vehicle that naturally belongs cutting sleekly through a bustling city at night while dance music plays. On the other hand, it looks like it could be right at home negotiating winding mountain roads. It’s sporty and hip, in other words.

CarScoops calls the Maxima’s new styling “avant-garde.” They praised its “dramatic at the front end,” which features a “V-shaped grille” and “boomerang headlights.”

CarScoops also made some interesting speculations as to the powertrain, saying that there will likely be a 3.5-liter V6 under the hood, with a CVT sending power to the front wheels. The publication also relayed a rumor that the hybrid system currently found in the Nissan Pathfinder may find its way inside the redesigned Nissan Maxima. And that makes what is already a truly bold redesign even more interesting!
