2015 Nissan Murano Debuts at New York Auto Show

2015 Nissan MuranoThe Nissan Murano was one of the first vehicles to make crossovers actually look appealing. With the 2015 model, Nissan is once again showing everyone how it’s done.

The new Murano debuting this week at the New York Auto Show features a toned-down V-Motion nose, a jet-inspired cantilevered roof with disconnected pillars, and an overall visually light cabin that helps it achieve a “floating feeling that can be recognized from very far away.”

Its exterior improvements aren’t just about pleasing the eye, however. Active grille shutters augment aerodynamics, angles and mirrors have been optimized to improve visibility, and surface enhancements help it boast a 0.31 drag coefficient.

The VQ-Series 3.5-liter V6 delivers similar power as the current model (260 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque) but Nissan claims that fuel economy may improve by as much as 20 percent, thanks to a more efficient powertrain, the better aero, and a significant 130-pound weight reduction.

The 2015 Nissan Murano will go on sale at Bates Nissan in the fourth quarter of the year. See you then!
