Earlier this year, Nissan added to its lineup of electric vehicles when it debuted the new Nissan LEAF e+. The new LEAF earns the e+ moniker for its new powertrain, which adds more power and a greater range. The Nissan LEAF e+ has a 62-kilowatt-hour battery pack with a higher energy density, and its powertrain delivers a higher output. This new powertrain has an EPA-estimated range of up to 226 miles, which is close to 50 percent more than previous models.

“The new Nissan LEAF e+ offers all of the style, convenience, and electric vehicle benefits that have helped make LEAF the best-selling electric vehicle in the world, plus even more driving excitement, range, power and choice,” said Denis Le Vot, senior vice president and chairman, Nissan North America. “Customers now have a selection of powertrains and models to best suit their driving needs.”

The new 2019 Nissan LEAF e+ features a 160-kilowatt motor that pairs with a high-capacity battery to generate 250 lb-ft of torque, enabling 13 percent quicker acceleration and a 10 percent higher top speed. The Nissan LEAF e+ is also expected to charge just as quickly as the previous-generation LEAF despite the 55 percent increase in battery storage capacity.

The Nissan LEAF e+ will go on sale later this year as part of the LEAF PLUS Series, which will include the S PLUS, SV PLUS, and SL PLUS trims. You can expect to see this exciting and efficient new LEAF in stock at Bates Nissan.
